Ingredients

ham bone
1
cup
diced ham
1
medium onion
peeled and chopped

pound
green split peas
rinsed (about 2 heaping cups)

water

cups
chicken broth
or vegetable broth

teaspoon
Dijon mustard
1/2
teaspoon
ground savoury
1/2
cup
diced carrots
1/2
tsp
freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
In a 6-quart slow cooker, place the ham bone and the chopped ham. Add the onion, split peas, water, and broth.
Measure in the mustard, savoury, carrots and pepper.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 5. Peas should be soft.
Remove the ham bone and taste the soup. Season with salt if desired.
Serve as is or puree for a smoother soup.
