Weekend Links & Awards!

Happy New Year!

I trust everyone had a wonderful New Year’s Eve and day. From a quick poll on our Facebook page, most of you were staying in and cooking up a feast!

We rang in the new year with a small group of friends and a candlelit dinner that went so late, midnight came while we were still savoring dessert. It was fun to relax around the table with the kiddies upstairs sleeping and enjoy uninterrupted conversation with other adults!

Awards!

Midnight brought a fun surprise, as the Canadian Weblog Awards were announced and Simple Bites was declared the winner of Best New Weblog! What an incredible honour (yes, spelled like a Canadian).

Simple Bites also placed third in the Food & Drink category, behind the highly regarded Everybody Likes Sandwiches (1st) and inspiring Gourmet Fury (2nd). It was a thrill just to be in the running next to the two of them.
