We’re on the brink of a whole new year of canning and what better way to begin then with a stash of reusable canning lids from Tattler. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered, well, one lucky winner anyway.

Made in the USA, Tattler lids are an environmentally friendly product for home food preservation that can be used with pressure canning or the hot water bath method. I’ve been using their lids for over a year now with no complaints and I recommend them to my friends and family.

  18. I always gets loads of fresh produce from my parents’ garden as well as my inlaws’. This year I’m looking forward to canning homemade spaghetti sauce, apple sauce, and peach pie filling. Yum!

  22. as soon as Christmas is over, 2013 canning starts off with the venison in my freezer. Canned venison is really good. I did not think I was going to like it as I am not a big fan of game, however, canning it takes away the gaminess and it takes on a beef flavor. There is also something to be said for having quick meals on hand!

    I’m hoping to procure some sour cherries from our friends’ tree again this year for cherry jam/preserves. It was my favorite from this year.

  34. What I really need to do come the winter days of 2013 is make jam from the frozen berries of the spring 2012. Having a little one this past year really did set-back all preserving action this year.

    My mom did canning when we were young: yellow and green beans, ketchup maison, beets, etc.. I did some strawberry jam on my own but wasn’t very successful. I would love to start canning.. But its easier when you are a couple of friends and share batches..
