What are your best tips for healthy snacking?
Great list, Thanks! My best tip is to plan ahead, so the snacks are available at the busy times that you need them.
Alison, love the pea crustini; since I noticed them on this blog, this recipe has become a permanent feature of my weakly meal plan: -))
I love quiche and will include for this weekend the crustless minis – they look so inviting, lus the pea-camole. Will do the minis with my little boy who loves cooking too.
All the best!
Thankyou so much for pulling these together. Just in time. Hubby and I are doing a refined sugar detox this month and there’s some nice snack ideas here. I’m trying to get all of the snack food out of the house (albeit organic… ) but it’s tough with 2 little kids. LOL
Great list, especially right before Superbowl weekend! I always have a hard time knowing what to get for snacks, and I am going grocery shopping this evening. Perfect timing all around.
When I see food, it’s hard for me and my kids to resist eating it. So I’m trying to make sure that the foods I put out are healthy. That means have to get the sweet treats and chips out of sight and make healthy snacks like raw vegetables and fruit more visible.
Great line-up! There are so many I would love to try.
My tricks for healthy snacking is similar to Julia- I don’t buy the junky stuff and have the favourites on hand. And keeping it simple with fruit and veggies- I always have the kids’ favourites in the house. My best trick is keep them active and hungry. If they aren’t filling up on the unhealthy stuff, when they come in from playing hard outside, they are happy to eat the healthy stuff when they have a good appetite.
Another simple snack is steamed edamame- it steams up quick from frozen and is tasty sprinkled with coarse sea salt- the kids especially love this.
Oh yay, thanks for posting this list 🙂 will come in handy for sure!
